Most of this material (the DM logo above, any screenshots, the game
disk images, etc) is copyright FTL Games / Software Heaven.
Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back were two of the
very first 3d roleplaying games controlled by mouse, and also two of
the best. The ultimate resource for these games can be found
at the Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes
Back Encyclopedia. They were originally produced by FTL (Faster
Than Light) and Software Heaven, both long vanished.
The copyright of these games still sits with their original
producer, Wayne Holder. I will be writing him personally to ask
permission for free distribution via the web, though I understand
he is already aware that many websites distribute these disk
images and is cool with it. We do not claim any intellectual property
or licensing of them, just relying on excellent word that Wayne
is okay with this.
Many disk images of these games exist, from the original
release versions to upgrades of the releases, to patched, compressed
and hacked up images from the Atari ST "demo" community. Due to the
difficulty in finding versions that work with Castaway/GP (some work,
some do not) I get asked a lot where to get the games and think it
would be cool (and a great honour!) to host the files. Normally
I dodge such questions, since I own the games and do not wish
to encourage any sort of piracy 20 years later or not... but
I think this time its a good and noble service and okay by the
owner of the copyright.
Go buy them, anyway. Dungeon Master 2 is still in bargain bins
for DOS!
My email to Wayne is here

Atari ST Chaos Strikes Back (Disk 2, original)
For best compatability, use Atari TOS 1.02 (copyright Atari and
not distributed here!). These disks will work perfectly with most
every Atari ST emulator around, handheld or otherwise.
