I'm not so vain as to think anyone noticed I've been quiet a few days, but its true .. and I'll likely be on-and-off the air over the next few days as well. You see, we're hexed.
Rant. On.
Thats the only explanation I can find for the last month or so - where one server melted down a few weeks ago (and was replaced by a shiny new black mini-ATX one.. yum!) Two weeks later, my main development machine died (BIOS EPROM went bad?! incredible!) Its been about a week, and now lightning (or a very highly targetted orbital deathray) has ravaged our house - though thank Crom no real damage occurred - no fires, no personal injuries, etc. However, so far we've lost all the telephone wiring in the house (melted, even inside the walls!), some cable lines, the new server from a few weeks back, our DSL modem, a new firewall/router, garage door opener, a monitor.. not to mention an additional week or more where I'm unable to update the website or answer support mail. With all these failures, I'm weeks behind on mail and that stresses me out -- and stresses our loyal customers. Naturally, if they send us an email and get no reply after a day or two they'll repeat the email with increased volume, and landslides kick in.. So in between repairing all these things, I'll be plugging in some time to get through all this backlog so people don't wonder where I've been.
Course, my wife has been soldiering through all this, but really.. its summer, and I'd rather be spending some time with her of late. I hope our luck improves.. or perhaps we're banking up for something really good to happen :) (Or we're paying back for all our previous good fortunes.. *ulp*)
