"Good day professor Falcon, how about a nice game of chess?"
Wed, 22 Jun 2005

Maybe Monday will bring a little vengeance to your friendly correspondants heart, as a Rogers repairman comes to figure out why our television (digital cable) signal is craptastic. While its annoying that he is to show up between the generous hours of 8am and 9pm, at least I get to take photos of him with his head in a nest of wires and blog his rear off.

My question of the day is a simple one: Did anyone ever beat Hacker? More to point.. nerds were hated and hated bad back in the youthful 1980's, and then the movie Wargames came out and suddenly kids with acoustic couplers were (almost) cool, which helped alleviate the daily beatings a little :) Later still came TV shows like Riptide with The Boz and his robot, and Whizkids -- both of which tried to make nerds cool. Cool-ish anyway. Television executives must be nerds too, and simply trying in their own way to make themselves look hip, but it was not to be.. and the nerd wasn't cool until The Matrix came around.

Won't someone please think of the childrennerds?

Ooo, one of these days I'll start my list of top games for the Atari ST. Well, I can start it now .. #1 would most likely be Dungeon Master. The real question is thus.. what was #2?

Yes, I'm totally -- totally beat tonight, but did manage to get solid working builds of Shadow Desktop for Mac OSX, Linux, and Windows out to alpha this week, which is way cool.
